Milton Historic District

The Town of Milton has a motto of “the museum without walls where preserving the past is our future!”. It is one of the best preserved antebellum villages in North Carolina. The town of Milton was incorporated in 1796 and flourished during the early 1800's as a trade and cultural center. Many original buildings in downtown Milton are still standing and in use today.
